Yu Shyr received his PhD in biostatistics from the University of Michigan in 1994 and subsequently joined the faculty at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. Dr. Shyr is an elected fellow of the American Statistical Association (ASA), the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), and the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), and he holds an honorary doctorate from National Cheng Kung University. He has published more than 500 peer-reviewed papers (h-index = 117) and serves as an associate editor for JAMA Oncology and Journal of Thoracic Oncology. Dr. Shyr has presented more than 300 invited talks, workshops, and courses around the world.

Dr. Shyr was a voting member of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Anti-Infective Drugs Advisory Committee and has served on dozens of National Cancer Institute (NCI) study sections and panels. As principal investigator of the Barrett’s Esophagus Translational Research Network Coordinating Center, funded by an NCI U24 grant, he led a team that provided crucial support for the collection, management, analysis, and dissemination of data among multiple research centers. His current projects include developing novel statistical and bioinformatic tools for biomedical research, particularly in the areas of proteomics and genomics, with special focus on single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq).

Dr. Ted Chang is Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Vice President and General Manager of Quanta Computer, known as the world’s biggest computer ODM and laptop computer maker. Along with his role as CTO, he oversees corporate technology strategy and global research partnership. Dr. Chang takes lead of Quanta Research Institute (QRI) for advanced technology research and BU12, a business unit dedicated to AIoT solutions for e-Heath, Smart Medicine and Smart Agriculture.

Appointed by the President of Taiwan (ROC), Dr. Chang has served as the representative to APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) since 2019. He serves as Co-Chair of Digital Working Group in ABAC 2022 and as Co-Convenor of Supporting Emergent Technology Taskforce with focus on AI and digital health for ABAC 2021.

Dr. Chang holds B.S. (88), M.S. (92) and Ph.D. (96) degrees, all from the Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, National Cheng-Kung University. Dr. Chen is a visionary leader with strong business acumen, a proven track record of innovation success, and a solid understanding of the global medtech industry, especially for the leading USA healthcare market. Yvie Tai is Director of Business Development at Qualcomm Inc. and is responsible for program managing Qualcomm Innovate in Taiwan Challenge (QITC). With this role, she builds partnerships, and finds new business opportunities arising out of the program. QITC was started in 2019 to support the development of Taiwan startup ecosystem by identifying and nurturing innovative startups.

After joining Qualcomm in 2007, Yvie has held various roles including as software lead in the Customer Engineering department and staff manager in the Product Marketing department of Qualcomm CDMA Technology (QCT) where she led the adjacent market business development in Taiwan and drove design wins and products launch. Prior to Qualcomm, Yvie worked at a startup and a law firm as R＆D engineer and patent engineer, respectively.

Yvie holds BS and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering from National Tsing-Hua University and National Chiao-Tung University, Taiwan and has completed the Graduate Credit Program in Business Administration from National Taiwan University.

Peter Chang is the CFO and General Manager of QT Medical Company, a medical technology company that specializes in innovative 12-lead ECG product, PCA 500. Along with the CEO and co-founder, Dr. Ruey-Kang Chang, he established the company, utilizing his extensive financial experience.

The PCA 500 provides efficiency, accuracy, consistency, sanitation, and better 0workflow, making 12-lead resting ECG testing accessible to the public. QT Medical has brought hospital-grade ECG testing to homes and enables doctors to perform patient monitoring anywhere, anytime. Under the team effort, QT Medical has achieved significant milestones. The PCA 500 has already been cleared by the FDA, TFDA, and CE mark. In addition to hospitals, the product has been successfully applied in other different markets, such as aviation, ER, EMS, CRO, athlete screening, and remote patient monitoring.

Dr. Steven Johnston holds dual roles at Merck KGaA, Darmstadt Germany / EMD Electronics as Vice President and Head of Technology Transformation and Enablement in the Electronics business unit and Vice President and Head of Technology Scouting and Ecosystem Enablement in the Corporate Science and Technology organization. In his Electronics role, he is responsible for leading Merck KGaA’s Electronics engagements internally with Merck KGaA’s Health Care and Life Sciences business units as well as with external partners to enable technology converged and differentiated product development. In addition, he is part of Merck KGaA Electronics leadership team responsible for defining Merck KGaA’s strategic engagement plans with the semiconductor ecosystem. In his corporate Science and Technology organization role, Dr. Johnston heads Merck KGaA’s enabling technology scouting organization that is responsible for identifying and launching disruptive technology and new business growth programs that span the electronics, health care, and life sciences ecosystems and product areas.

Previously Dr. Johnston was at Intel Corporation for 21 years where he was Senior Director of Supplier Technology and Industry Development. In this role, he was responsible for managing Intel’s research and pathfinding supply chain programs with equipment, material, component, and EDA supply chain companies, worldwide consortia engagements, engagements with government funding groups globally for new process technology development, and Intel’s Technology and Manufacturing Group’s strategic market research and PR communication initiatives. Dr. Johnston also oversaw Intel’s technology and manufacturing supply chain IP and collaboration processes and executive alignment of Intel’s silicon technology roadmap with memory and foundry manufacturers. Additionally, Dr. Johnston was responsible for connecting Intel’s technology and manufacturing supply chain roadmap to Semiconductor Industry Association and SEMI global public policy initiatives and other semiconductor industry ecosystem programs.

Dr. Johnston is a member of SEMI’s Board of Industry Leaders, SEMI’s CTO committee, SIA’s CTO committee, and IMEC’s executive advisory council. He also was a founding member of the SIA/SRC Semiconductor Research Vision initiative, chairs the SEMI Industry Strategy Symposium and is an industry advisory board member of the Electron Devices Technology and Manufacturing conference. Dr. Johnston previously served on the SEMATECH and G450C Board of Directors on behalf of Intel Corporation. He has a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Florida, holds 17 patents and has authored ＞60 publications/presentations.
