為積極扶植高雄市新興重點產業發展，加速產業轉型與國際化，近年來，高雄市政府積極推動數位文創產業之發展，成功帶動許多數位內容廠商移入高雄。全球前5大的特效公司「R&H」的進駐、設點在駁二的「兔將創意影業」，在高雄軟體園區正式啟動的「智崴科技」20億的投資案、遊戲業龍頭SONY電腦娛樂公司「SCET」、日商「台灣小學館」、「KKBOX」、「西基(CG)電腦動畫」等等，這些經驗足以印證高雄數位內容產業聚落的形成。
The Kaohsiung City Government has been aggressively promoting expansion of the city's local digital cultural creative sector as part of a comprehensive initiative to spur growth in target emerging industries and accelerate business transformation and internationalization. Efforts have paid off, with an impressive list of digital content providers now already operating in the city. Global Top-5 special effects firm R&H is creating a new production center in Kaohsiung City’s Pier-2 Art Center, so as TWR Entertainment. At the Kaohsiung Software Park, a NT$2 billion investment by Brogent Technologies and other major investments by world game leader Sony Computer Entertainment, Taiwan Shogakukan, KKBOX, CGCG, Inc. and more further underscore Kaohsiung City's rising stock with digital content providers.
Industry leaders choosing to locate in Kaohsiung City bodes well for sustained and successful transformation of the city's business infrastructure. The city's Economic Development Bureau will hold the "Kaohsiung International Digital Content Industry Forum" specifically to help new potential domestic and overseas investors learn more about Kaohsiung City's digital content industry, overall investment environment, and investment incentives. The forum will also provide an important platform for top global special effects, game and animation production teams to explore and discuss key international trends and issues in their areas of expertise.
