Simon Segars

Simon Segars is the Chief Executive Officer of ARM and serves on its Board of Directors. He was the company’s 16th employee and has held a variety of roles from junior engineer to leadership positions in engineering and business development. He also led the development of early products such as the ARM7 ™ and ARM9 ™ CPUs that powered the first digital mobile phones, and holds patents in the field of embedded CPU architectures. Simon serves on the Boards of the Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA), the Electronic Design Automation Consortium (EDAC), and as a non-executive director at Dolby Laboratories. He holds a BEng in electronic engineering from University of Sussex and an MSc in computer science from The University of Manchester.

Rahul Patel serves as Senior VP and GM of Connectivity for Qualcomm Technologies Inc., (QCT), where he is currently responsible for QCT’s connectivity and networking businesses and leads the Wired/Wireless, Infrastructure and Networking (WIN) and Mobile, Computing and Location (MCL) product management organizations. Prior to this role, Rahul was the Senior VP and GM for Wireless Connectivity at Broadcom where he managed the product roadmap, market, business development and applications engineering organizations to expand Broadcom’s market segments. Rahul holds an MBA from Santa Clara University in California, a Master’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Arizona State University in Tempe and a B.Tech in Electronics and Communications Engineering from NIT in Warangal, India.

Howard founded Layerboom in 2009 and was acquired by Joyent, a US leading Cloud Service Provider in 2010. Since the acquisition, Howard acted as General Manager for Joyent Canada and later President of Greater China for Joyent prior to joining Ericsson. Throughout his career, Howard has driven successful outcomes through strong team cultures built around collaboration, understanding and meeting business needs while continuing to drive the best in class technology forward.

Based in San Jose, Zach is responsible for leading marketing for the IoT business. Before joining ARM, Zach was co-founder of Sensinode where he has acted as CEO, CTO and chief nerd for the ground-breaking company before its acquisition by ARM. Zach has served on the Technical Advisory Board and Board of Directors at the IPSO Alliance, is an active contributor at the IETF, and acts as an angel investor in several startups.

Ron Martino is General Manager of i.MX Application Processor Business and Advanced Technology Adoption in Microcontroller group in NXP Semiconductors. He is responsible for driving the broad adoption and rapid growth of the i.MX application processor business across consumer, industrial and automotive applications. Ron was the executive leader of Freescale’s global microcontroller R&D organization developing products for multiple applications across consumer, industrial and automotive segments. Prior responsibilities at Freescale included his role as Vice Chairman of the FSQX IC Design Company based in Tianjin China. And Ron worked at IBM for 20 years in high performance computing, networking, RF communication, and gaming microelectronics.

Vito Di Bari was the Innovation Designer for the World Expo 2015, Executive Director IMI at United Nations’ UNESCO, in Paris, and Professor of Design and Management of Innovation at Polytechnic University of Milan. Named Big Thinker 2014, he is considered the thought leader of the design, art and architecture movement Neo-Futurism. The Financial Times has defined him as “the Guru of Innovation and Design”; the Nobel for Economics Kenneth Arrow, said, “Vito Di Bari engineers dreams. Concrete dreams, based on solid facts”. According to Harvard Business School, Vito is one of the three most influential futurists in the world, along with John Naisbitt and Alvin Toffler.

Lucas is the CEO of HWTrek, the largest global platform for hardware innovators and industry. Leopold Beer

Leopold Beer graduated at the University of Stuttgart with a diploma in physics. As he specialized in semiconductor physics, he started as an engineer in the DRAM plant of Siemens Semiconductors in 1994. In 1997, he was assigned as head of the Electrical Failure Analysis Group of Siemens Semiconductors in Portugal. After the spin-off of Infineon from the Siemens Group, Leopold held various managerial positions within the Infineon Manufacturing Division. In 2002 Leopold joined FCI Automotive as Market Segment Manager. Leopold entered Bosch Sensortec shortly after its foundation in 2006 as Sales Director and later became Head of Global Marketing and Product Planning. Since March 2013 he holds the position of Regional President for Asia Pacific and is based in Shanghai, China.

Dr. Simon Wang received his Ph.D. degree from Columbia University. He has over 31 years of experience in the semiconductor industry. He worked in Intel Corporation on Flash memory technology development from 1983 to 1989. In 1990 till 2006, he worked for Macronix International Co. and held various positions as Fab director, VP of operations, VP of business development on Embedded Flash SoC / MCU and VP of marketing and sales group. Dr. Simon Wang joined TSMC in 2006 and has been responsible for business development related to memory program, digital consumer and CMOS image sensor products. Currently, he is responsible for the business development related to the fast growing internet of things market.
