Dr. Pehong Chen is Founder & Chairman of BroadVision Group (BVG), a private asset management firm focusing on funding, incubating, and operating cutting-edge business ventures globally across artificial intelligence, cleantech, cloudtech, fintech, healthtech, medtech, biotech, and other innovative technology domains. BVG’s mission is create and nurture unique solutions through digital transformation, delivering compelling growth and profitability for businesses as well as happier work and healthier life for the people they serve.
Previously, Dr. Chen was CEO of BroadVision, Inc. (Nasdaq: BVSN), a highly-recognized pioneer in e-commerce, content management, and business social networking platform solutions, which he founded in 1993 and took public in 1996. At its peak, BVSN market cap exceeded $25 billion in 2000. For more than 25 years, BVSN has empowered thousands of enterprises worldwide to successfully transform and profitably operate their businesses digitally through high-output collaboration internally and high-touch engagement externally. BVSN was acquired by private equity firm ESW Capital in May 2020.
陳丕宏博士為美商宏道資訊BroadVision(Nasdaq: BVSN) 創辦人暨董事長。美國商業週刊(Business Week)將他譽為「全球最有影響力的25位電子商務領袖」之一。陳丕宏博士作為一位先驅者,致力於推動各領域的創新解決方案,例如: 一對一的個人化服務、知識管理、電子商務、電子金融、企業社群平台、整合溝通協作……等。在1993年成立BroadVision之前,陳丕宏博士曾擔任Sybase的多媒體技術副總裁,專職於多媒體互動技術。此外,陳博士也曾創辦並擔任Gain Technology總裁,Gain Technology之後於1992年被Sybase併購(自2011年起為SAP AG旗下的一個部門)。在矽谷成功故事中,陳丕宏博士不曾缺席。過去25年間,他創辦並經營兩間成功的企業軟體公司,同時資助許多創業者。1993年,他提供創業資金給客戶關係管理(CRM)系統的全球領導廠商Siebel Systems (於2005年被Oracle併購)。陳博士也曾作為中國最大入口網站與微博服務-中國新浪(Nasdaq:SINA)的天使投資人,並自1998年起擔任獨立董事一職。近期,他同時是以下幾家成功企業的董事之一: 中國最大企業軟體廠商-用友(SSE: 600688)、中國軟體外包領導企業-文思海輝技術有限公司(Nasdaq: PACT)、全球性的網路安全管理解決方案領導廠商-Fortinet(Nasdaq: PACT)。
David has completed 60+ cross border transactions with a total transaction amount of USD 9+ billion: (1) angel, venture capital, & private equity investment and (2) merger & acquisition, listing, fund raising, & business facilitation. He has acted as a financial and strategic consultant to 500+ companies in the US, Greater China, Europe, Israel, Korea, Japan, and Southeast Asia. The funds David managed are earliest investor of 10 unicorns including Alibaba (91x returns; first ever institutional investor), Boom Supersonic (50+x unrealized returns), and Life 360 (44x returns) out of 5,000+ deals evaluated. David received his MBA from Columbia University in New York and bachelor degree from National Taiwan University.
